Sepetiba looking up
South America’s potential hub container port of the future, Sepetiba, has just pulled in new business which, on its own, will more than double its throughput this year to around 80,000 TEU.
Sepetiba Tecon, operator of the container terminal located 80 km south of Rio de Janeiro, says that the arrival of the joint VSA Tango service, which groups nine shipping lines - including market leaders Hamburg Süd, Maersk Sealand and P&ON - will push it further along the road to becoming the main port for the East Coast of South America (ECSA)....
