The demand for dry bulk container liners, designed to convert standard ISO equipment for the carriage of free flowing products, has held strong for several years.These one-trip liner bags have gained in popularity because of their ability to cut handling costs when compared to bagged carriage of the same products within a container. They are also increasingly able to compete in many conventional bulk trades, provided the product volumes being carried are not too great or too low value.
The demand for liners has been further boosted by the increasingly imbalanced nature of some major container trades.Many shipping lines, desperately searching for backhaul shipments out of North America or Europe, have turned to container liners because of their ability to containerise primary chemical and agricultural products at an economic cost and so attract additional export business from these regions....
