Wallenius Wilhelmsen Lines (WWL) serves the Australasian market with weekly ro-ro services linking Australia and New Zealand with Europe, South Africa and the Americas.
Regional director Peter Dexter says that vehicle and heavy machinery imports have increased but there has also been strong growth in project cargo, such as rail cars, wind turbines and other outsized loads. The core market, however, remains vehicles and WWL has expanded into 3PL to extend its influence. Oceania Vehicle Processors operates from seven sites across Australia and has taken its market share from one to 11 per cent since it was established three years ago.
