Chile’s recent economic growth, led by exports of copper, salmon, fruit and vegetables, wine and forest products has been good news for the country’s ports and in particular the top container ports, San Antonio and Valparaíso.
San Antonio is expected to have handled just over 10 mt in 2004. While this is a modest increase on last year’s 9.75 mt, container volumes surged from 524,376 TEU in 2003 to more than 640,000 TEU last year....
