2004 was a bumper year for straddle carrier manufacturers and comes after both Kalmar and Noell reported record output in 2003. Noell Mobile Systems and Cranes GmbH said that it expected an order intake of 190 machines in 2004, with deliveries around the 175 mark. This includes straddle carriers and specials such as coil carriers and Eagle X-ray machines.
More tersely, Kalmar’s vice president, straddle carriers, Ilkka Annala remark that “2004 was a better year than 2003,” when Kalmar delivered 150 straddles....
