Swiss UIRR company Hupac has reported a 12.6 per cent increase in traffic last year, to 448,031 shipments (around 950,000 TEU). Its ambitious target is to double traffic within the 7-year time frame from 2000 to 2007.
Of last year’s figures, 330,929 shipments (+ 7.5 per cent on 2003) were unaccompanied transalpine shipments and 91,949 (+ 33.5 per cent) were non-Alpine unaccompanied shipments in “new” (seaport-related) markets. Driver-accompanied (RoLa) shipments came to 25,153 (+20.4 per cent)....
