Heavy lift operators have confidence in the market
Although Dockwise, the main in dependent transporter of fullyerect container cranes, admits that its bookings in this sector this year will not match those of last year, it is confident about the future.As yet, however, it has not ordered a newbuilding to replace DOCKLIFT 10, which is now 27 years old.
This highly specialised vessel, with which (the then) Dock Express pioneered fully-erect crane delivery, has already undergone one life extension programme and consideration is being given to a further refurbishment project that would add at least five more years to the ship’s working life....
