Heavy lift shipping hits the big time

With crude oil set to remain around the US$60/barrel mark for the short to medium term and only upward moves foreseen after that, the extra petro-dollars generated are giving the heavy lift and project cargo shipping sector the biggest boost it has experienced for many years.

Many new or expanded refinery and LNG export terminal projects are planned or under way. In addition, there has been a big increase in major infrastructure projects, such as fertiliser plants designed to use locally-sourced gas....
