Earlier this month the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) hosted a 3-day event in Panama City to provide new information on all the elements of the Panama Canal expansion project, including bidding and contracting procedures. Underscoring the massive interest in this “mega” infrastructure project, the conference attracted more than 600 representatives from 222 companies and 34 countries.
“For the first time in its 92-year history, the Panama Canal will be expanded,” said ACP’s CEO Alberto Alemán. “This is a fundamental project of global importance. Expansion will change the way the world trades, increase the advantages of the route and reaffirm our commitment to the interoceanic waterway.”...
