Within a few years China will have the capacity to supply twice the likely world demand for tank containers.
Four Chinese tank manufacturers - China International Marine Containers (CIMC), Singamas Container Holdings, Zhongshan Zhonghua Tank Containers (ZZTC) and the newly emerging Nantong Tank Container Co (NTtank) - are set to meet over 70% of the world’s requirement for new tank containers in 2008. By 2010, as a result of the continued build-up in production capacity by these companies and the emergence of a fifth player, the CXIC Group, China will be able to produce over 40,000 tank containers per annum.World demand is likely to be less than half this volume....
