Guangzhou, Ningbo join top 10 club

China’s Guangzhou and Ningbo ports edged into the world’s top 10 container port rankings in terms of throughput last year.

Guangzhou handled 11.22M TEU in 2008, up 19.04% on the 2007 figure and rising from 12th to 6th spot in the global rankings, while Ningbo climbed from 11th to 7th with a throughput of 11M TEU, up 18.8%....
