Demand for standard dry freight containers may have hit the buffers last year in the wake of the global economic downturn, but reefer production held up remarkably well.
Figures just in from manufacturing sources in China indicate that reefer container production last year fell by almost 9% from the record total built in 2007 - a far better performance than the 25% plus slump experienced in the dry freight sector....
