Progress with spreader-mounted radiation scanning?
Earlier this year, Cargotec Port Security, LLC (CPS) reported its first commercial order for its ship-toshore container crane spreadermounted radiation detection system, from global security company Lockheed Martin, a leading US defence contractor.
In the summer the equipment was installed on a Bromma STS45 separating centre twin 20 spreader on a crane at the Port of Charleston and is used to scan containers for gamma and neutron radiation while the container is moved from ship to shore during normal operations. It is part of Lockheed Martin’s integrated security package, which includes container tracking and OCR technology....
