Due to the economic crisis, around 20,000 jobs were lost last year in the European Finished Vehicle Logistics (FVL) industry, along with 20% of capacity, and much of the industry is in need of significant financing.
Costantino Baldissara, commercial and logistics director of Grimaldi Group Naples and president for 2009-11 of the European Vehicle Logistics Association (ECG), is confident about the prospects for economic recovery, but has stated that the industry will need between €4B and €7B for new transport equipment - ships, rail wagons and trucks....
