In its biggest single investment ever, PSA is to purchase a 20% stake in Hutchison Whampoa Ltd (HWL)’s portfolio of ports - Hutchison Port Holdings Ltd and Hutchison Ports Investments Sàrl - for a total cash consideration of US$4.388B (HK$34B).
HWL said it will make a profit of US$3.15B on completion of the deal, its biggest disposal for several years. It posted losses of more than US$9B on 3G operating licenses in 2004 and 2005....
