Siag SpA, the Italy-based crane components specialist, has acquired the assets, references, workin-progress and intellectal property rights over all the all-electric crane spreader designs pioneered by Bubenzer Systems, now in liquidation (WorldCargo News, February 2006, p3).
At the time of its insolvency, Bubenzer Systems’ orders in hand included two more ship-to-shore crane spreaders for VTE Genova, to be fitted to new Reggiane cranes, up to three spreaders for Felixstowe and seven for US Jones Act shipping operator Horizon Lines, the latter in connection with crane retrofit and upgrade projects in various US harbours....
