PD Ports, part of Babcock & Brown Infrastructure, is set to launch its own lo-lo container service between Teesport and Felixstowe in February 2008.
Teesport is already connected with a network of feeder and shortsea lo-lo and ro-ro services to various European ports, but this would be its first domestic coastwise link. It is aimed at boosting interest in the £300M, 1.5M TEU Northern Gateway deepsea terminal project, for which PD Ports hopes to obtain planning consent shortly, with construction set to start immediately it is granted....
