Aponte to speak at TOC
Maurizio Aponte, chairman of MSC Home Terminal NV in Antwerp and director of MSC Benelux NV, is among the keynote speakers at the three-day TOC 2005 Europe conference in Antwerp in June. Speaking in the plenary session on Tuesday 14 June, Aponte will provide a carrier perspective on investing in terminals and will explain why the Swiss-headquartered shipping line opted to develop its own terminal in Antwerp.
The company operates MSC Home Terminal at Antwerp's Delwaidedock in co-operation with Hesse-Noord Natie NV. The facility is currently undergoing major renovation which, by next year, will boost its annual capacity to well over 2.5 million TEU. Also taking part in the discussion is Hubert Vanleenhove, director of container operations at PSA Hesse-Noord Natie, MSC's operating partner in MSC Home Terminal which is also developing on the tidal container terminals at Antwerp's new Deurganckdock on the Left Bank.
Van Leenhove will present a paper on creating a highly productive terminal and share his insights on Other high profile port industry figures who have confirmed their participation include Arif Al Dehail, container terminal director of Dubai Ports Authority and Peter Keyte, general manger, port operations with Port of Brisbane Corp.
