Lars Fredin is heading Konecranes’ global business units "Lifttrucks" as of October 1, 2009
Lars Fredin assumes the position upon the retirement of K-G Salomonsson, who has managed the unit for several years. Mr Fredin joined Konecranes Lifttrucks from Bromma Conquip, where he worked as Vice President responsible for Sales and Marketing Mr Salomonsson will continue as a senior advisor to the unit until his retirement during 2010.
Katsunori Moriya, the general director of MOL (Vietnam) Co Ltd, has been named the first Gerneal Director of Tan Cang Cai Mep International Terminal (TICT), which is slated to begin operations in February 2011.
Doug J Marchand has announced that he will step down from his position as the Georgia Ports Authority's (GPA) Executive Director effective January 1, 2010. Marchand will remain as Executive Advisor through the end of 2010, while GPA's Chief Operating Officer Curtis J Foltz will become GPA's Executive Director.
As expected, the Port Commission of the Port of Houston Authority (PHA) named Houston businessman Alec G Dreyer the new PHA executive director. Dreyer is the first director in the PHA's 90-year history to come from outside the maritime industry.
Wade M Battles has quit the post of managing director of PHA that he held since 1999 to take up a position with Halcrow. Battles was also acting executive director while a successor to H Thomas Kornegay, who retired in February, was sought.
