More appointments in ports, shipping and equipment supply sectors
As earlier announced, from the start of this year Cargotec has moved to a two business area structure - Marine (ex-MacGregor operations) and Industrial and Terminal (ex-Hiab and Kalmar operations).
As part of the change the corporate Executive Board has been renewed. Cargotec's Executive Board consists of the following members: Mikael Mäkinen, President and CEO; Pekka Vauramo, Deputy to CEO and Senior Executive Vice President, Industrial and Terminal business area; Olli Isotalo, Executive Vice President, Marine business area; Axel Leijonhufvud, Executive Vice President, Supply; Eeva Sipilä, Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer; Kirsi Nuotto, Executive Vice President, HR and Communications; Matti Sommarberg, Executive Vice President, Chief Technology Officer; Harald de Graaf, Executive Vice President, EMEA region; Ken Loh, Executive Vice President, APAC region; Lennart Brelin, Executive Vice President, Americas region; Unto Ahtola, Executive Vice President, Product Solutions, I&T and Stefan Gleuel, Executive Vice President, Service Solutions, I&T.
Senior Executive Vice President Kari Heinistö and Executive Vice President of Hiab business area Pekka Vartiainen will leave the Executive Board. Kari Heinistö will join a new employer as of 1 April 2010. Pekka Vartiainen will develop a common way of working towards Cargotec's defence business customers.
At an EGM held on 23 December 2009, CMA CGM shareholders approved the modification of the company by-laws concerning corporate governance and replaced the Supervisory and Executive Boards with a Board of Directors.
Jacques Saadé was elected chairman of the Board, Philippe Soulié was appointed CEO and Farid Salem, Rodolphe Saadé and Jean-Yves Schapiro were appointed EVPs.
Other Board members are Tanya Saadé Zeenny, Tristan Vieljeux, Pierre Bellon, Denis Ranque and Christian Garin.
Following a return to operating profit in 4Q/2009, the group expects to see further improvement in revenue, supported by high loading factors and steady rising freight rates.
For the first time, a woman has been named director of SNCF Fret. Sylvie Charles was previously president of STVA, SNCF's vehicles transport arm.
InterManager, the international trade association for shipmanagers, has announced that it has appointed a new Secretary General to replace Guy Morel, who retires this summer.
Captain Kuba Szymanski will move from MOL Tankship Management where he has worked for the past two years. Capt Szymanski will join InterManager on March 1st and will work alongside Guy Morel until the latter's retirement at the end of June.
The Canaveral Port Authority has promoted Rosalind Harvey to the post of senior director, communications and community affairs.
Justin Miller has been assigned to the position of commercial coordinator for the West Coast Industrial Express (WCIE) joint service operated by Industrial Maritime Carriers (Intermarine) and Associated Transport Line.
