Comings and goings in the ports and shipping industries
US-based Metro Ports, part of Nautilus International Holding Corp (NIHC), has announced the appointment of Commander James Dillman to the position of president, Metropolitan Stevedore Co, Southeast Maritime Services and Southeast Crescent Shipping Co. He reports directly to James Callahan, NIHC's chairman, president and CEO. Dillman most recently served as vice president of Ceres Gulf, Inc, in Houston, Texas.
Jean-Frédéric Laurent has been appointed director of strategy and development at Dunkirk port authority, replacing Pierre Joly, who has retired. Laurent was previously director of the research group BRS Barry Rogliano Salles in Paris.
The Port of Tyne, UK has appointed Andy Foulds as commercial director, port services. He reports to Steven Harrison, COO. Foulds joins the port from Safmarine, where he was Asia regional line director, based in Singapore.
Réal Couture has been appointed VP, finance and administration, Montreal port authority. M. Couture was previously with the Société des établissements de plein air du Québec, the provincial body that manages and develops public territories and tourism facilities.
Kim Catterick, PD Ports’ business development manager, containers, has been appointed chairman, Humber region, Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. Mrs Catterick will serve as Humber CILT’s chairman for two years.
Trelleborg Marine Systems has appointed Mishra Kumar as global technical and market support manager, based in Singapore.
Rich Weigel will retire as AVP, sales and marketing, transload, Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCSR) at the end of January 2011. He will be replaced by Steve Evans. The latter's replacement, in turn, as AVP in the industrial products area, carload business unit, will be Susan McVaney (née Strong).
Konecranes is combining its South Asia Pacific (SAP) and North East Asia (NEA) regions into a single Asia-Pacific (APAC) region that will be headed by Ryan Flynn, until now head of NEA. Flynn will continue to report to Harry Ollila, EVP and head of market operations. Edward Yakos, SVP, SAP region, is leaving Konecranes
Amports has announced the appointment of Gary Salvador to the position of VP, sales and marketing, based in Jacksonville, Florida.
Jeff Long has joined Canaveral Port Canaveral Authority as deputy executive director/CFO.
Manitowoc Cranes has named Ingo Schiller, SVP, worldwide marketing, effective September 1. Schiller joined Manitowoc in 2008 from Liebherr Cranes, Inc, where he was VP, sales.
