The Supervisory Board of Hapag-Lloyd has extended the contracts of the Executive Board members Michael Behrendt and Ulrich Kranich until 30 June 2013, in accordance with the company's internal rules. Michael Behrendt was again appointed as chairman of the Executive Board. The other Executive Board members are Peter Ganz and, from 1 January 2011, Jesper Praestensgaard.
The South Carolina State Ports Authority (SCSPA) has promoted Art Pruett to VP, carrier sales. He replaces Sarah Gaillard, who is leaving the SCSPA to pursue another opportunity in the shipping industry.
Mirko Pahl has been appointed to the Management Board of DB Schenker Rail Deutschland AG with responsibility for production, with effect from next January. The appointment allows Dr Christian Kuhn to focus on the development of overall European production.
Gary S Smith has been appointed EVP of Geodis. He will focus on developing the group’s global 4PL business, as well as on strategy and the acquisitions policy to be implemented in the Americas region.
Pekka Vauramo, Cargotec Corporation's COO and deputy CEO is relocating from Helsinki to Hong Kong to drive Cargotec's development initiatives in Asia-Pacific (APAC). Ken Loh, EVP and head of Cargotec's Asia-Pacific region, will continue to be responsible for Cargotec's operations in APAC.
Mikael Mäkinen, Cargotec's President and CEO, said that during 2011 two more Executive Board members "will be located close to our customers in the emerging markets."
Blue Giant Equipment Corporation has appointed Luis Delgado to the newly appointed position of sales director, Latin America.
Terry Bunch of Rayonier has been elected chairman of the National Industrial Transportation League’s Board of Directors. He succeeds Mark Maleski of J C Penney Co, who just completed his second consecutive one year term.
