Horizon Lines, Inc has named Alex J Mandl to the position of Chairman and appointed Stephen H Fraser as interim President and CEO succeeding Chairman, President and CEO Charles G "Chuck" Raymond, who is retiring.
Additionally, Brian W Taylor, CCO, has additionally been named EVP and COO, succeeding John V Keenan, who has been granted a leave of absence. Michael T Avara has been promoted from SVP and CFO to EVP and CFO.
Mitsui OSK Lines has assigned three new sales managers to its US reefer cargo trade team. Mark McQueen heads Atlantic Region, Larry Flading heads the Central Region and Pat Ryan heads the Pacific Region.
Jim Hedderwick, Kuehne & Nagel's SVP, road & rail logistics for North West Europe (British Isles and Nordics) is set to become managing director of UK-based RH Freight Ltd, which has been acquired by the Swiss-based company. Ian Baxter, RH Freight's existing MD, will stay on as non-executive chairman.
Captrain, the vehicle that consolidates all of SNCF Geodis's international freight holdings, has appointed Mauro Pessano as managing director of its Italian affiliate, Captrain Italia (formerly SNCF Fret Italia and Veolia Cargo Italia). Rail industry veteran Pessano has joined from Crossrail in Switzerland, where he was commercial director.
FB Chain Ltd, the UK-based manufacturer and supplier of leaf chain to the materials handling industry, has appointed Peter Church as its new MD. He succeeds Phil Taylor, who is retiring after 25 years.
