Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics (WWL) has appointed Xavier Leroi as its new MD in China, based in Shanghai. He was formerly head of WWL South Africa.
In addition, Gur Prasad Kohli has been appointed MD for WWL India, based in Chennai. He was formerly MD in Hong Kong for Wilhelmsen Ships Service.
Two "Class III directors," Thomas P Storrs and Bobby J Griffin, have been re-elected to the Board of Horizon Lines.
Seven years after becoming the youngest harbour master in the world, Rufus Lekala of South African port landlord Transnet National Ports Authority has now taken up office as the country’s first Chief Harbour Master of colour. According to Transnet, he is the youngest person in this position worldwide.

The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has appointed Sir Peter Bottomley, MP as its new President, succeeding Lord Fowler. Steve Parker, Head Customs and Brokerage - Europe, of DHL Global Forwarding, is the new BIFA National Chairman. He moves from his current role of Vice Chairman and succeeds Andrew Melton, who has held the position of National Chairman for the past two years. Carson McMullan of All-Route Shipping (NI) Ltd, is the new BIFA Vice-Chairman.
