Bonny to leave Dunkirk
Martine Bonny is leaving her post as director general of the Executive Board of the Port of Dunkirk
Bonny's resignation from the Port of Dunkirk (GPM de Dunkerque) is consequent on her appointment, by France's President, Nicolas Sarkozy, as inspector general of the Department of Sustainable Development, in Paris. In this new appointment, Mme Bonny will report directly to two government ministers, Nathalie Kosciusko-Morizet and Thierry Mariani. GPM de Dunkerque has not yet reported on her successor at the port.
In other key personnel developments, two Management Board members of Demag Cranes have tendered their resignation following the takeover by Terex Corp. Rainer Beaujean, CFO, and Thomas H Hagen, COO, have made use of their respective special termination rights and will leave the Management Board by no later than 30 November 2011. They "reached their decision after the closing of the Terex Industrial Holdings AG voluntary public tender offer on 16 August 2011, which led to a change of control," said a Demag Cranes statement. "Owing to the change in conditions, Mr. Beaujean and Mr. Hagen have decided to seek out new challenges after their nearly five years of successful management of Demag Cranes AG."
The Hakman Group, the global private investment banking and advisory company based in Burlingame, CA, USA, has announced the addition of Tim Britton to their senior management team as managing director, business development. Britton previously held senior management positions with container lessors GE SeaCo, Transamerica Leasing and Trans Ocean Ltd.
Coatings manufacturer Valspar Corporation has appointed Lars Hermansen as European container segment manager. Hermansen has 28 years of experience in the container coatings market and served most recently as group director of Hempel A/S. In his new role, he will work closely with Paul McCrory, Valspar's global container segment director, to promote Valspar's Aquaguard range of zinc-free, waterborne container coatings to shipping lines and leasing companies throughout Europe.
The Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers has appointed Julie Lithgow as its new director. In her current position as head of Business Intelligence at Pole Star, Ms Lithgow works with governments, naval authorities and ship owners on vessel tracking systems, ship security and IMO regulations.
Andy Blythe has been appointed Managing Director of Ely based B&W Mechanical Handling Ltd. He succeds Andrew Mitchell, who is focusing on his own consultancy business, but "will maintain strong links with B&W." Blythe will team up with Peter Slee-Smith, Managing Director for Operations at B&W.
As of October 1, 2011, Kuehne + Nagel is appointing Yngve Ruud as regional manager North West Europe. He will succeed Tim Scharwath, who will become a member of the Management Board of Kuehne + Nagel International AG in September. Ruud built up Kuehne + Nagel’s Norwegian organisation, after his own company was merged with Kuehne + Nagel Norway in 1995.
WiseTech Global has appointed Kate Malov to the role of CFO, based in Sydney, covering both WiseTech's key brands, CargoWise and eHealthWise.
