Lytle takes over as Long Beach helmsman
J Christopher Lytle, the Port of Long Beach's Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer, has been named as the port's new Executive Director, to succeed Richard D. Steinke, who announced his retirement earlier this year
Lytle, a longtime shipping industry veteran, has been the Port’s Deputy Executive Director since March 2008. He joined the Port in September 2006 as one of four Managing Directors, overseeing the Port’s Trade Relations and Port Operations Bureau, which includes the Communications, Trade Development, Security and Maintenance divisions.
He is a former vice president of CMA CGM, responsible for the line's NAWC operations. He also held executive positions at P&O Ports North America, Sea-Land Service, Inc, and APM Terminals.
Dr Ignace Van Meenen has taken up the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Rickmers Group. A lawyer by training, Van Meenen is a former Director of Finance for RAG AG (now Evonik Industries) and CFO of the RTL Group and the DIC Group.
