The latest round of our regular series on new appointments in the shipping, ports and allied industries.
National Container Company has appointed Andrey Bogdanov , previously Commercial Director for First Container Terminal (FCT), as Chief Executive Officer for Ust-Luga Container Terminal (ULCT).
Lev Kuzmin, previously Commercial Director for Logistika-Terminal, has been appointed Director for Sales and Marketing at ULCT and Alexey Sidorenko becomes Commercial Director.
Galina Galtsova, Deputy Commercial Director at FCT, is now acting Commercial Director there and Boris Kryakunov has stepped up from Deputy Commercial Director at Logistika-Terminal to is appointed acting Commercial Director.
Gustavo Ferrer, has taken over from Alfonso González as director of Noatum Container Terminal Valencia (ex-Marítima Valenciana). Alfonso González has left Noatum and has also stepped down as president of Valencia’s port workers company Sevasa, Ferrer has succeeded to this position as well.
The Port of Helsinki has introduced a new matrix organisation with two business units under the port's managing director Kimmo Mäki. Vuosaari Harbour is led by Jukka Kallio and Passenger Harbours (ie Helsinki city) by Kari Noroviita. Support functions are Administration and Finance, Technical Services and Marketing and Communications, The first two are led respectively by Tauno Sieranoja and Aarno Ahti, while Kimmo Mäki also heads marketing and communications.
ABP Marine Environmental Research Ltd (ABPmer) has appointed Suzannah Walmsley as a new Principal Environmental Consultant. Ms Walmsley is a marine environment and biodiversity expert with significant experience of European marine policy and international fisheries issues.
Alex Beddow has joined Doosan UK as national dealer manager, fork lift trucks, as Doosan expands its UK FLT marketing activities and product range. He was formerly general manager of Fantuzzi UK (now part of Terex Cranes' port equipment division).
Stefan Paul has been appointed as a new member of the Kuehne + Nagel International AG Management Board. He will be responsible for the business unit Road Logistics. He previously worked for Kuehne + Nagel in various management positions from 1990 to 1997.
Kraft Foods senior Logistics Director, Keith Newton, has been appointed Secretary General of The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport International. He takes up the position from 1st May 2012 in succession to Interim Secretary General, Colm Holmes, who steps down from the role at the end of March.
Keith Newton’s appointment follows the work completed by the Trustees of CILT International in 2011 which redefined the leadership and management structure of the organisation. He will be supported by the recent appointments of Jon Harris to the new role of International Professional Development Co-ordinator and Ceri Williams as the new International Administration Co-ordinator.
