Hoyer expands in French market
Hamburg-based bulk liquids service provider Hoyer is extending the range of services it offers in France.
In addition to renting out Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) to its customers, Hoyer will now provide an entire logistics package for these small-scale containers from its base in Lyon.
According to Gilles Lemaitre, Hoyer’s newly appointed area sales manager in Lyon, IBCs are already well established in France but until now the IBC business has been limited to rentals.
Under the new arrangement, Hoyer will perform the entire logistics function and, as part of its fleet management service, will also undertake the operation of customer-owned IBCs. “This means we combine high-quality transport with economy - all from a single source,” Lemaitre said.
The portfolio of services also covers all workshop operations, including legally mandated follow-up examinations and cleaning. The latter can be carried at Hoyer’s depot in Rouen, which has a modern, high-throughput washing facility.
“Our full-service offer means that customers can lower their logistics overheads substantially,” Lemaitre said.
Hoyer leads the field in the European IBC market, with a fleet of 20,000 units, mainly of standardised types. The 500 and 1,000 litre units are used to transport and store liquid products and can be provided with special coatings and heating systems and be licensed for use with hazardous products.
