Andy Tung has been appointed as CEO of OOCL, Hong Kong, with effect from July, when he will take over from Philip Chow, who is retiring then, although will continue as a non-executive director.
Stena Line has recruited Björn Petrusson as Group Freight Director. His former posts include being MD of DFDS Tor Line in Sweden and Belgium, Supply Chain Director at Bulten Automotive AB and as CEO of Ewals Cargo in Scandinavia. Richard Horswill has been appointed Route Director, Liverpool/Heysham-Belfast and Head of Freight.
The Port Commission of The Port of Houston Authority has appointed Leonard D Waterworth as Executive Director of the port authority. Colonel Waterworth has been working as the port's interim executive director since January 30, 2012, taking over from Alex Dreyer.
APM Terminals has assigned one of its most experienced executives, Martin Poulsen, for the past six years CEO of APM Terminals’ Europe region, as an internal Safety Activist.
National Container Company has announced new appointments to the management team at First Container Terminal, Saint Petersburg. Galina Galtsova, previously Deputy Commercial Director, is now Commercial Director. Sergey Ivanov, previously Head of Marketing Department, is appointed Sales and Marketing Director.
International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI) has appointed Nathan Clarke and Roger Yee as civil engineering managers for its ports worldwide. Clarke has been with ICTSI since 2008 and before that he was with Maunsell/ AECOM Philippines, Inc. and with Maunsell Australia Pty Ltd and Western Earthmoving Pty Ltd. Yee was formerly contracts manager for the Independent Deepwater Petroleum Terminal in Pengerang, Johor.
Jakub Karnowski has been appointed as the new president of Polish Railways (PKP). He replaces Maria Wasiak, who will remain on the board of PKP. Finance Director Pawel Piesniewski, Property Director Pawel Olczyk and Real Estate Management Director Romuald Bosakowski are leaving the Board, while Piotr Cizkowicz has joined the Board.
Dr Karnowski obtained a PhD in economics (2004) from SGH in Warsaw and MBA from University of Minnesota (USA). He was awarded a scholarship by the Margaret Thatcher Foundation in London School of Economics and also studied at Harvard John F. Kennedy School of Government. He is a member of the USA Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and his previous posts include the position of Head of Political Cabinet and advisor to the Polish Minister of Finance and Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs in National Bank of Poland .
Jörg Hoffmann has been appointed manager of the Bremen branch of HHLA's container trucking and depot arm, Container Transport Dienst. Hoffman's previous experience in the sector includes appointments at EKB and Truck Trans in Bremen, and OOCL in Bremerhaven.
Australia-based Toll Group has announced the promotion of Damain Bishop to the newly created role of Group Director Business Development.
Didier Cousin has joined Advantech-DLoG, the industrial PC and vehicle-mounted computer specialist, as Channel Director, Europe, based in the office in Nanterre.
Anders Paulsson, CEO of sandwich core specialist DIAB, is stepping down from his position as CEO, with effect from 3 May, and Lennart Hagelqvist will take over as CEO. Lennart joins from Perstorp and before that he was at Kemira, ABB, Stora Enso and Aker. Anders Paulsson will continue with DIAB as an advisor.
