Germany-based heavy lift and shipping operator Hansa Heavy Lift has appointed Tomas Dyrbye, a former Group SVP of AP Moeller Maersk, as CEO, with effect from 1 August, 2012. Roger Iliffe, the current CEO, will move up to join the Board of Hansa Heavy Lift.
Rickmers-Linie has promoted Ulrich Ulrichs to the position of managing director from the post of deputy managing director he has occupied since August 2011. He will work alongside Rüdiger Gerhardt, who has held the title of managing director since 1 July, 2011 and is also head of logistics services for the Rickmers Group.
Claus F Baunkjaer will take over the chairmanship of Femern A/S, the Danish state organisation responsible for developing the fixed 18 kms long tunnel crossing between Puttgarden and Rødby, with effect from 1 September, 2013. He will succeed Leo Larsen who will remain chairman of the parent group Sund & Belt Holding A/S. Claus Baunkjaer is secretary and member of the Danish ministry of transport and was part of the team that negotiated the contract between Germany and Denmark for the fixed Fehmarnbelt crossing in 2008.
On 1 September 2012, Ronald Paul will succeed Thessa Menssen as director of Infrastructure and Maritime Affairs (chief operating officer) at the Port of Rotterdam Authority. Ronald Paul has spent the last eight years directing the port's Maasvlakte II project team.
Ronald Lugthart has been appointed managing director of Rotterdam World Gateway, the DP World-led container terminal on Maasvlakte II that will be opened at the end of 2014.He was previously director of Rotterdam container stevedoring terminal Uniport.
The advisory board of BLG Bremer Lagerhaus-Gesellschaft has appointed Frank Dreeke as the next chairman of BLG Logistics Group AG & Co. KG, with effect from 1 June , 2013. when he will succeed Detthold Aden on the latter's retirement.
ICTSI Ltd, a has named Hans-Ole Madsen as senior vice president for Europe and the Middle , based in ICTSI’s regional office in Dubai. He is a former VP, business development of APM Terminals in Africa, Middle East and the Indian Sub-continent. From 2006 to 2008, he served as Chief Executive in South Asia of Maersk India.
Michael Vanderbeek, formerly with the Port of Long Beach, is the new director of business development at Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Alan Hill has been named as the new director of administration at Port Everglades, succeeding Pia Thompson, who retired recently after 35 years at the port.
Transnet National Ports Authority has reassigned Tandi Lebakeng, currently the acting port manager of the Port of Saldanha, to the Port of Mossel Bay. In a reverse move, Willem Roux, who was port manager of the Port of Mossel Bay will relocate as port manager of the Port of Saldanha.
Four Board members, Rick Squires, Gareth Lynn, David Snelson and Fiona Birt-Llewellin have been appointed by Milford Haven Port Authority under a new procedure brought about by a change in the port authority's constitution. Previously, all non-executive members and the chairman were appointed by the Secretary of State for Transport. Under the revised arrangements, only the chairman will continue to be appointed by the Secretary of State. The remaining members will all be appointed by the authority itself. The change to the port's constitution is in line with the UK Government’s guidance on Trust port governance as set out in Modernising Trust Ports: Second Edition.
Effective 1 July, 2012, the transfer of all shares in TFG Transfracht to Deutsche Bahn has become legally valid. As part of the change, a new operations function is to be added to the current divisions of finance/controlling and marketing/sales, for which Ralf-Günter Kloss will assume responsibility. He is currently managing director of DB Intermodal Services GmbH and will perform the duties of both positions simultaneously.
DB Schenker Rail UK has appointed David Cross as customer service manager for its logistics segment.
Maarten Jongen has been appointed managing director of Damen Shipyards Singapore. He has been the company's regional sales manager, Asia Pacific, since 2007.
Hull, UK-based John Good Group has appointed Alan Platt, previously joint managing director, to managing director of the John Good group of companies, while the Board also sees two new additions. Seamus Jennings has been named group sales director, while John Garnier has been promoted to group finance director.
