Gunnar Blomdahl will step down as CEO of Stena Line at the end of this year, after 10 years in the role. Carl-Johan Hagman, who currently has responsibility for all shipping operations in the Stena Group, has been appointed as the new CEO, combining the post with his current position. Blomdahl will continue to work in the "Stena Sphere," including positions on the boards of the Ballingslöv Group, Stena Recycling and Stena Technoworld.
Euroports has appointed a new MD for its Benelux and France region with effect from January 1st 2013, Paul Jacob Bins, who currently runs Euroports' breakbulk and bulk terminals in Belgium and France.
Steven Lak has been named as the new chairman of Deltalinqs, the Rotterdam port employers' organization, with effect from 21 January 2013. He will succeed Wim van Sluis who has chaired Deltalinqs for six years (two terms) and is a former Rotterdam port alderman. Lak, like van Sluis, will also chair the Rotterdam Port Promotion Council.
Omar Benjamin has retired from his position as Executive Director of the Port of Oakland (CA) with immediate effect. Both he and James Kwon, the port's Maritime Director, were placed on administrative leave in October. The port's Aviation Director Deborah Ale Flint has assumed the position of Acting Executive Director.
A Paul Anderson is taking over as Tampa port authority’s next port director and chief executive, succeeding Richard Wainio. Anderson is transferring to Tampa from his post as chief executive officer of another Florida port authority, Jacksonville.
Piotr J Skotnicki has left his post as Managing Director of OBA Group BV "by mutual agreement" and has been succeeded by H J Fijlstra, a member of the Supervisory Board. Fijlstra stood down as Managing Director of OBA Group in mid-2011 and has been a Supervisory Director since the beginning of 2012.
ICTSI recently appointed Guillaume Lucci as Vice President and Global Infrastructure Director as part the group's restructuring of its corporate engineering functions. Lucci will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of the construction of new ports and construction-related expansions of existing ports from design through bidding, negotiating and awarding contracts, and construction project management. He was formerly with CH2M HILL in Brazil, as Vice President and Latin America Infrastructure Commercial Director.
Patricia Severino has been appointed CFO of Sociedad Puerto Industrial Aguadulce SA, the ICTSI affiliate that is developing a container and bulk terminal in Buenaventura, Colombia.
Port of Houston Authority Executive Director Len Waterworth has implemented a reorganisation of the port's management structure. Roger Guenther, formerly vice president, Container Terminals, will head the new Operations Division. Tom Heidt, formerly vice president, Finance and Administration, will retain stewardship of those functions and also oversee other staff support groups. As previously reported, Phyllis Saathoff, who joined the Port Authority in October from the Port of Freeport, Texas, is heading the division of Corporate Affairs.
Thomas Böger has been appointed to Management Board of Schenker Deutschland AG, with responsibility for the Contract Logistics/SCM Division in the Central Europe Region of the DB Schenker Logistics Business Unit.
