Latest round-up of appointments known to WorldCargo News
Boris Wenzel , whose departure from his post as CEO of DCT Gdansk to Spain was previously announced by the Polish company, has been appointed the new COO at Noatum Ports. He replaces John Erwin Thomsen , Noatum's first COO, who has retired. Elías García , who was previously director of Noatum Container Terminal Málaga, has been appointed managing director of Noatum Container Terminal Bilbao. He replaces Camilo Alvarez , who has retired as MD, but will remain as president of the terminal.
Jorge Moreno has been appointed the new commercial director of Terminal Catalunya.
DCT Gdansk, preparing has appointed Adam Zolnowski as its CFO. Until recently he was responsible for strategy and corporate affairs at DCT and before that was a Director at Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Poland.
Canadian National has named three vice presidents as part of the company’s executive changes. John Orr has become VP of the eastern region, based in Toronto. Michael Farkouh will become vice president of safety and sustainability on April 1, based in Montreal. Gerry Weber will become VP of supply, fleet and fuel management, based in Montreal, starting April 1.
In addition to its Executive Board (Mika Vehviläinen, Eeva Sipilä, Mikael Mäkinen, Olli Isotalo and Axel Leijonhufvud), Cargotec has a new Extended Executive Board, made up of: Outi Aaltonen, SVP and General Counsel and, with effect from 1 April, Secretary to the Executive Board; Stephen Foster, SVP, Corporate Audit; Soili Mäkinen, CIO; Matti Sommarberg, EVP and Chief Technology Officer; and Anne Westersund, SVP, Communications and Public Affairs.
Kranunion GmbH, the holding company for Kocks Krane, Ardelt (ex-Kranbau Eberswlade) and Kirow, recently set up a Supervisory Board, made up of Dr Klaus von Dohnanyi, a former Mayor of Hamburg, Rainer Goedl, a former Board member of Linde AG in charge of material handling (pre-Linde industrial gases and Kion formation), and Helmut Mittelstädt, who retired as managing director of Kocks at the end of 2012. The new managing director of Kocks is Uwe Pietryga and the chief designer is Siebelt Siuts. Ludwig Koehne is managing director of Kirow and acting CEO of Kranunion, while Tim Koehne supervises Kocks on Ludwig's behalf.
Heiner Murmann has been appointed by the Supervisory Board of Schenker AG to the company's Management Board, effective May 1. He will be responsible for air and ocean freight.
UPS has appointed Cindy Miller to president of UPS Europe, making her responsible for all UPS operations in more than 120 countries in EMEA.
Spinnaker, the Denver (CO)-based supply chain consulting firm, has hired Mike O’Donnell as Vice President, Sales.
