Latest round-up of appointments known to WorldCargo News
The German Shipbrokers' Association (ZVDS) has elected a new Board. Christian Koopman, of the Hamburg-based company Peter W Lampke, remains Chairman, and Jens B Knudsen of Sartori & Berger is his new deputy. Herbert Bibow remains Treasurer. Christian von Georg remains a Board member, and Rasmus Vöge was elected as a new member of the Board.
UPM Kymmene has appointed Kim Poulsen as Executive Vice President and Group Executive Team member responsible for Paper Business Asia Pacific as of 1 July and global Corporate Relations as of 2 May 2013.Poulsen will be based in Shanghai and reports to Jyrki Ovaska, President, Paper Business Group, in paper business related matters and to Jussi Pesonen, President and CEO, in Corporate Relations. Pertti Salminen will retire as planned in September 2013. Mika Sillanpää has been appointed Senior Vice President, UPM Plywood as of 2 May 2013. He will be based in Lahti and reports to Jussi Vanhanen, President, Engineered Materials. Mika is currently working as Vice President, Sourcing for UPM Engineered Materials.
Asier Atuxa was recently appointed president of Bilbao Port Authority in the place of José Ramón de la Fuente by the Ministry of Public Works, on the proposal of the Basque government.
Monika Ribar is to step down CEO of Panalpina at the end of May and will be succeeded by former Kuehne & Nagel Management Board member Peter Ulber, where he was in charge of both sea and airfreight.
Stefan Bengtsson has joined Damco as Chief Finance Officer for Latin America and is based at Damco’s Latin American offices in Panama City. Sune Stilling has transferred from his current role as Managing Director for West Africa to the position of Chief Operating Officer for Latin America, also based in Panama. He succeeds Svend Erik Arp who will transition into the role of regional Chief Transformation Officer, which includes the responsibility for all IT projects. Antonio Morciano joins Damco as the Regional Head of Ocean Freight for Latin America. David Juarez has been appointed Regional Vertical Head of Retail and Lifestyle for Latin America. Enrique Fajardo has been joined Damco as Managing Director for the Andean Cluster, consisting of Colombia and Ecuador.
