Rolf Habben-Jansen is to become the new Chairman of the Executive Board of Hapag-Lloyd, on 1 July 2014, with Michael Behrendt leaving as planned on 30 June after more than 12 years at the helm of the liner shipping company. Habben-Jansen will join the Executive Board with effect from 1 April 2014. He formerly held positions at the Royal Nedlloyd Group and at DHL and became CEO of freight forwarding group Damco NV in The Hague in 2009. Ulrich Kranich will also leave Hapag-LLoyd as planned on 30 June 2014 after 38 years. He will be replaced as COO by Anthony J Firmin , who has worked at Hapag-Lloyd for 18 years.
Bibby Ship Management Group has appointed Mark Robertshaw as its new Commercial Director.
Pascal Ollivier, Director of Corporate Development at the Le Havre-based international ports and IT consultancy Soget SA has been nominated as Foreign Trade advisor by French Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault.
José Antonio Peral has joined TTI Algericas as COO. He formerly worked for seven years as COO for APM Terminals Algeciras.
Associated British Ports (ABP) has announced a reorganisation of its Humber ports and the retirement of ABP Port Director Southampton, Doug Morrison. He will be replaced by Nick Ridehalgh, currently ABP Port Director Short Sea Ports.The reorganisation on the Humber will bring ABP’s operational and commercial teams under one umbrella. Currently separated in to two directorates covering Hull and Goole on the north bank of the river and Grimsby and Immingham on the south, ABP will create a new single organisation to manage all four of its Humber ports. The new organisation will be led by John Fitzgerald, currently ABP Port Director Grimsby & Immingham. Matt Jukes, currently ABP Port Director Hull & Goole, will be leaving ABP.
Sharjah, UAE-based Gulftainer has named Peter Ford as its Group COO. He joins Gulftainer from his last position at APM Terminals where he was CEO at the Port of Salalah, Oman.
The Advisory Board of the Seehafen Nidersachsen (Lower Saxony Seaports) marketing organisation has appointed Inke Onnen-Lübben as its new managing director. She has worked at the organisation since 2006. The new deputy managing director is Felix Jahn, who has joined from the German Industry and Chamber of Commerce in Oldenburg. Mrs. Onnen-Lübben replaces Andreas Bullwinkel who has been appointed marketing director of the newly formed marketing organisation for container terminalJadeWeserPort (JWP) Wilhelmshaven.
Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) has appointed Deborah Hadden to oversee operations at all its non-aviation properties. She has been acting director since October 2012. Massport has also appointed Rachael Rollins as its Chief Legal Counsel.
Forth Ports Limited has appointed Janice McCann as Group Head of Health and Safety, a newly created post.
Georges Azevedo has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Geodis Wilson and will join the Board of Management of Geodis Wilson, the Freight Forwarding Division of Geodis.
Christophe Thiebaud-Girard has joined France-based freight forwarder Mory Ducros as Assistant General Director.
