Guy Platten, currently CEO of Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd, has been appointed CEO of the UK Chamber of Shipping with effect from January 2014.
John F Reinhart recently announced his retirement as President and CEO of Maersk Line, Limited in the USA, with effect from the end of January 2014.
Ulf Hansen recently joined the Executive Board of Interschalt maritime Systems AG in Germany. He shares the Executive Board's work with Robert Gärtner, who was appointed Chairman of the Executive Board.
Thomas Chen, Chairman of Evergreen Shipping Agency (America) Corp (EGA) in Jersey City, USA since 2007, is being transferred to assume the position of Chairman of Evergreen International Storage and Transport Corp in Taoyuen, Taiwan. Jack Yen steps up from Vice Chairman to Chairman of EGA.
The Port of London has appointed Richard Everitt as Chief Executive, replacing Steve Cuthbert, who retires at the end of the year. Mr Everitt will join the PLA on 1 December. He was previously Chief Executive of National Air Traffic Services.
Holger Banik, up to now managing director of BremenPorts, has been appointed managing director of both NPorts and JadeWeserPort Realisierungsgesellschaft mbH & Co KG, with effect from 1 January 2014, replacing Axel Kluth, who is leaving at the end of this year.

Jakob Flyvbjerg Christensen has been appointed director of the Port of Aarhus, with effect from January next year, replacing Bjarne Mathiesen, who in May announced his retirement at the end of this year. Tim Waggott has been confirmed as CEO of Dover Harbour Board. Formerly commercial director for the Port of Dover, he was appointed Acting CEO in June when Bob Goldfield stepped down.

Axel Leijonhufvud Cargotec Executive Board member and President, Hiab business area, has resigned. Cargotec President and CEO Mika Vehviläinen has taken over as the interim head of Hiab business area as of 25 October 2013. The recruitment process for a new head of Hiab business area has started.
New Zealand-based sidelifter specialist Steelbro has appointed Alex Evans as its new Global Sales Manager. Initially he will provide improved support to the client base in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands before strengthening relationships in the wider global market largely via distributor networks. Prior to joining Steelbro, Alex spent a number of years working for New Zealand exporter Hamilton Jet, whose distributor networks and direct-to-end user sales experience covered 50 countries.
Manitex International, Inc, based in Bridgeport, whose assets include CVS Ferrari Srl, has appointed Fred Knox as a Director and independent member of the Board, serving on the Audit and Compensation Committees.
DB Schenker Logistics UK has appointed Michael Sims as its new Director, Ocean Freight. He replaces Glen Boyce who has taken up a role within the group as DB Schenker Logistics' Head of Ocean Freight, Region Europe North.
