Arnaud Thibault has stepped down as Regional Director and Managing Director of CMA CGM South Africa Pty, based in Durban and has been appointed Deputy Vice President, Africa Lines in the CMA CGM Group, based in Marseilles. Estève Servajean, Deputy Vice-President in charge of the African network of Agencies, will take over from M Thibault in Durban.
MOL (Canada), Inc has appointed Travis Linfoot as the new regional sales manager, based in Vancouver, BC. He will report to Tim Harrington, vice president, Canada and will focus on outside sales functions for Western Canada.
The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has promoted Richard D Cameron to Managing Director of Environmental Affairs and Planning for the City of Long Beach Harbor Department. He has been Acting Managing Director of Environmental Affairs and Planning since July 2013, following the retirement of Robert Kanter from the post.
Frédéric Henry and Valérie Fourneyron have been elected as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Port of Rouen Authority (GPM de Rouen, part of the HAROPA Seine ports marketing alliance), for another two-year term. Philippe Deiss has been reappointed President of the Management Board. Henry was nominated to the top post two years ago when HAROPA was formed and Alain Bréau retired.
Troy McClelland, Port of Everett Commissioner and President and CEO of Economic Alliance Sonhomish County, has been selected to serve as Secretary of the Washington Public Ports Association (WPPA. As secretary, McClelland will help lead the development of WPPA’s organisational strategy.
Colonel Leonard Waterworth stepped down from his post of Executive Director of the Port of Houston Authority on January 31, 2014, after an agreed two year period. Janiece Longoria, Chairman of the Port Commission (the first woman in that post when she was appointed in January 2013), announced that Roger Guenther, Deputy Executive Director of Operations, has been appointed as Col. Waterworth's successor.
Guillermo Belcastro has been appointed as Managing Director of Tercat, Barcelona, par of Hutchison Port Holdings, replacing Alejandro Kouruklis who held the post for three years. Belcastro was previously Tercat's Deputy Managing Director and Finance Director.
London Container Terminal, Tilbury, part of Forth Ports Ltd, has appointed international port veteran Jamie Frater as its new Senior Asset Manager, with effect from March. He is currently CEO of Eastport UK, Great Yarmouth and also sits as a non-Executive Board Member of The Dublin Port Company.
Liebherr has appointed Matthias Mungenast as its new Sales Director, harbour mobile cranes. Mr Mungenast has been working for Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH in various positions since April 2006, including sales director for mobile harbour cranes at Liebherr Singapore, and posts as area manager in the UK, Ireland, Italy and Asia Pacific regions. In his most recent position he was global key account manager for maritime products.
Nidec Avtron Automation, based in Independence (OH), USA has appointed Rafael Gonzalez as Regional Sales Manager, Port Crane Control Systems Group. Mr. Gonzalez was formery Regional Manager for Terex Port Solutions (Gottwald). The post is based in Houston (TX)and covers the US Gulf and West Coast, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
Christer Granskog has been promoted to the post of Deputy Chairman of Finnish transport and logistic company Oy VR Group Ltd. He remains an independent Director of the Board of Cavotec SA.
Alan Gibson has left his post as director of Captrain Benelux against the backdrop of a breakdown in working relationships with the rail freight company’s Works Council. The president of French parent company SNCF Geodis, Philippe Bihouix will temporarily head Captrain Benelux. Gibson joined the company early 2011 from Maersk’s ERS Railways.
The Intermodal Transportation Institute (ITI) at the University of Denver recently elected Mark McGowan to its Board of Directors. He is Vice President, Human Resources at CMA CGM (America).
