Latest round-up of appointments known to WorldCargo News in shipping, ports and allied sectors
Michael Duhamel has been appointed Managing Director of the newly established company OPDR Maroc from Till Ole Barrelet, Chief Executive Officer of the OPDR Group, who held the position on an interim basis.
Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) has appointed Gary Lemke as its new Executive Vice President, ports. In the role, he will oversee the flagship Khalifa Port and the three commercial ports in the city of Abu Dhabi, Zayed Port, the Free Port and Musaffah Port. He will also be responsible for the ports in the Al Gharbia region, which support local industry and leisure activities.
A number of positions have been agreed or nominated in the French seaports, as required by ordinances embodied in the port reform law of 2008. Jean-Marc Forneri, an experienced banker specialising in mergers and acquisitions, has been elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Port of Marseilles Authority. Delphine André, the Chairman of Groupe CAT (Charles André Transport) has been elected Vice-President. In addition, the 17 members of the Supervisory Board have accepted a proposal from Transport Minister Frédéric Cuvillier to nominate Christine Cabau-Woehrel as the port's next Chairman of the Management Board. Mme Cabau-Woehrel has been Chairman of the Management Board of the Port of Dunkirk since March 2012. Jean-Philippe Laillé has been reappointed as Director of the Development Board of the Port de Rouen, François Soulet de Brugière and Wulfran Despicht have been elected as the new President and Vice President respectively of the Supervisory Board of the Port of Dunkirk Authority (GPM de Dunkerque). Pascal LeFevre, Managing Director of SIAP/Sarp Industries, has been elected Chairman of the Supervisory Board of GPM de Bordeaux. Nicole Pizzamiglia, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bordeaux and the Aquitaine Region, has been reelected as the Board's Vice-Chairman.
Daniel Hosseus has been appointed Managing Director of the German Seaports Association (ZDS), with effect from 1 April 2014. He succeeds Klaus Heitmann, who is retiring at the end of March, at the age of 65. Hosseus, who grew up in Canada, joins ZDS from the German Shipowners' Association (VDR), has extensive experience of working in North America, Brussels and London.
The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has appointed Heather A Tomley as the new Director of Environmental Planning. She has served as the City of Long Beach Harbor Department’s Acting Director of Environmental Planning since July 2013.
The [US] Northwest Marine Terminal Association, Inc has elected Sean Clark, Port of Kalama as Prsident, Jennifer Brown, Port of Longview, as Vice President, Tom Tanaka, Port of Seattle, as Treasurer. Patti Fulghum continues as Executive Officer.
The Port of Tampa Bay has appointed Emilio F Salabarria as its new director of safety and training.
The Port Corpus Christi (TX) has promoted f its Acting Chief of Police Tom Mylett to Chief of Police.
Adam Purwin has been named as the new CEO of PKP Cargo. Purwin was formerly CFO and took interim charge after the departure of CEO Lukasz Boron last November 2013. (Source: ITZ)
Mikael Laine has been appointed Senior Vice President, Strategy, by Cargotec. He has joined from Moventas Group, a world leading industrial and wind gear manufacturer, where was President and CEO.
