Round-up of the latest personnel changes known to WorldCargo News in the shipping, ports and allied sectors
Jürgen Weber will step down as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hapag-Lloyd this autumn and hand over to Michael Behrendt. As part of the changes, Behrendt will step down as CEO of Hapag-Lloyd at the end of June and will be replaced by Rolf Habben Jansen.
Hamburg-based Rickmers group has made some changes in the top management. Shipping industry veteran Ron Widdows has left his position as CEO of the group and has been replaced by Dr. Ignace Van Meenen, up to now the CFO. The latter post has been filled by Prof Dr Mark-Ken Erdmann, up to now deputy CFO. Bertram Rickmers remains the group’s Cchairman. Ron Widdows will move to the Advisory Board of Rickmers Holding and will retain his position on the Board of Apollo Rickmers joint venture A R Maritime Investments Pte Ltd in Singapore. Ulrich Ulrichs has been promoted to CEO of Rickmers Linie, replacing Rüdiger Gerhardt, who has been appointed Chief Administrative Officer. At the time of writing, no replacement for Ulrich's previous post of COO has yet been announced.
UK-based John Good Group has appointed Seamus Jennings and Alan Steadman as Joint Managing Director and Director respectively of John Good Shipping, based in Manchester, UK. Rachel Davies and David Churchyard have been appointed Office Manager in Felixstowe and Tilbury/London Gateway respectively. Paul Fordon has been appointed Director of Felixstowe Warehousing, while continuing his current role as Managing Director of Trans European Port Services in Hull.
The Mexican Port of Guaymas recently replaced the incumbent managing director Adrian Alanis with Edmundo Chávez Méndez. The latter was formerly municipal president for the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) of Guaymas in 1994-1997. Alanis was appointed managing director only on 14 August last year. Whilst most other heads of port authorities in Mexico are to retain their positions, Jesús Orozco Alfaro at Manzanillo is to be replaced by Vice-Admiral Jorge Rubén Bustos, while Sonia Blancket Lopez, at Ensenada, will give way to Hector Gonzalo Bautista Mejía.
Björn Andersson was recently appointed CEO of TTS Group ASA, having been Acting CEO since November 2013.
Germany-based ContiTech AG has appointed Hans-Jürgen Duensing, Head of the ContiTech Conveyor Belt Group, to its Executive Board.
RAM Spreaders has appointed William Job as Regional Technical Manager, based at a new office in the Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai.
Greencarrier AB is merging its freight forwarding and logistics activities in Norway. The new combined organisation will form a part of the Greencarrier Freight Services division. The legal name of the merged organisation is Greencarrier Shipping & Logistics AS, with Kåre Thuesen as MD. Øyvind Lygre, the former CEO of Greencarrier Shipping & Logistics, will take responsibility for port logistics and related activities.
