Latest round-up of appointments known to WorldCargo News in the shipping, ports and allied sector
Rolf Habben Jansen has been appointed as CEO of Hapag-Lloyd and Anthony J Firmin is the new COO following the previously announced departures of Michael Behrendt and Ulrich Kranich. Peter Ganz continues as CFO, a position he has held since April 2009.
Hansa Heavy Lift has appointed Steven Neuendorff as Head of Americas, based at its regional headquarters in Houston and responsible for the shipping line’s North and South American business, managing Hansa’s offices in Houston and S ão Paulo.
Christer Gransskog has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Finland-based shipping line Arctia Shipping Oy.
Port Everglades has announced the appointment of Jim Pyburn to the position of Director of its Business Development Division. He joins the port from Port Tampa Bay where he was the director of marketing and business development for Latin America.
Fábio Siccherino has been appointed as the director of new business development at Brazilian container terminal Embraport. A chemical engineer from the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, he was previously director of Log-in and traffic manager at Navegação Costeira Serviço Atlântico Sul. He then joined Vale in 2002, serving as business manager in the logistics area.
Antonio Sevilla has been appointed the new president of Cartagena port authority (APC, in Spain). A road engineer, he has been a director of Obras Públicas y Urbanismo of the CCAA since 2011, before stepping down in April of this year. He replaces Adrián Ángel Viudes, who held the position since 1996.
Marina Rimpo has taken up the post of manager, marketing and development, Baltic region with HHM, the Port of Hamburg Marketing Association. Mrs Rimpo has been working in the HMM marketing team since 2008 and supported the ACL Amber Coast Logistics project. In her new function she will coordinate the work in the Baltic region in cooperation with the HHM representative offices in St Petersburg and Warsaw.
The Kansas City Southern Railway Company (KCSR) has appointed Jack F Elmore Assistant Vice President, Claims. His core responsibilities include oversight and supervision of KCSR’s claims office in Shreveport, La, as well as a number of administrative duties for the department as a whole. He joined KCSR from CSXT.
Global shipping, logistics and marine services provider GAC has appointed Fredrik Nyström as its new Group Vice President for the Asia Pacific region. He takes over from Dan Hjalmarsson, who has retired.
Dirk Hoke has taken over as CEO of the Large Drives Business Unit of the Siemens Drive Technologies Division. Large Drives develops, manufactures and markets products, systems, solutions, and services for drive engineering in industrial and infrastructure applications as well as sectors such as marine engineering, mining, cement, pulp and paper.
Martin M Lin has been appointed Chairman of China at Cargotec Industries (China) Co Ltd as of 1 August 2014. He comes most recently from Textron China, Inc and before that he was with Rockwell Collins.
Netherlands-based Menlo Logistics has appointed Gert Jan van Sluis as its new European HR Director. He joins Menlo from global semiconductor manufacturer, NXP and is based at Menlo’s European headquarters in Amsterdam.
Richard Burnett has been appointed Chief Executive of the UK's Road Haulage Association. He joins the RHA from Samworth Brothers where he was Managing Director of Samworth Brothers Distribution.
The United Kingdom Warehousing Association (UKWA) has announced the appointment of Tony Mohan as its new chairman. He takes over from John Maguire, who had held the role since 2011. Tony Mohan joined Bibby Distribution in 1988 and has held various positions within the business, from operational roles through to the Business Development function.
