Round-up of latest appointments known to WorldCargo News in the shipping, ports and related sectors
Hamburg-based Buss Ports Logistics group has appointed Marco Neelsen as the new CEO as of October 1st 2015, replacing Heinrich Ahlers. Neelsen is currently CEO of Khalifa Bin Salman Port Bahrain, a post he has held since 2012. Ahlers will stay on as an advisor at least until the end of 2016.
Freightliner Group’s Chairman, Peter Maybury, has announced his retirement after 18 years with the company. He was appointed to the position of Freightliner Group CEO in 2009 and stepped down from that post in 2013, being replaced by Russell Mears.
Tiger Cool Express LLC has named Cortney Keenan as Vice President of Marketing.
Dr Heiko Fischer, CEO of VTG AG has been elected as the new President of the UIP (International Union of Wagon Keepers). He succeeds Dr Eckart Lehmann, who held the presidency for the past four years.
Ana Hinojosa, US Customs and Border Protection deputy assistant commissioner, has been elected director of the World Customs Organization, Compliance and Facilitation Directorate. She will be responsible for supply chain security, data harmonization, and coordinated border management and enforcement.
Sany Europe GmbH has a new managing director, Xiangyang Jiang, following the departure of Bart de Croos.
Doosan Industrial Vehicle has appointed Tim Waples to vice-president and CEO of its expanded UK operations.
Two Vice Presidents of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport have been appointed by Network Rail. Sir Peter Hendy CBE has been appointed as the new Chairman and Richard Brown CBE as Special Director.The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has a new National Chairman.
Fred Osborn, a co-owner of X-Pand International Freight Ltd, has succeeded Carson McMullan as the National Chairman of BIFA (UK freight forwarders), with Mark Bromley becoming Vice Chairman.
