Supramax bulk ship operator Eagle Bulk Shipping, Inc in New York has appointed Gary Vogel as the new CEO, with effect September 1st 2015. Vogel will also join the board of directors of the company. He succeeds Stanley H Ryan who will resume his position as a director in the company. As previously reported, Vogel has just stepped down as CEO of Danish Clipper Group.
The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has selected Noelia Rodriguez, former Chief Communications Officer for Metro Los Angeles, as the Managing Director of Communications to oversee the Harbor Department’s Communications, Government Relations and Marketing divisions.
Italy's Infrastructure Minister Graziano Delrio has nominated Sergio Prete and Francesco Molinari as Extraordinary Commissioners for Taranto port authority and Bari port authority respectively; each has formerly served as president of the respective port authority. Capt. Vascello Mario Valente has been nominated Extraordinary Commissioner for Brindisi. Valente, the current Brindisi port captain, replaces Hercules Haralambides in his new role.
Nolan Gray has joined the Port of Tyne as Business Development Director.
DP World London Gateway has appointed Andy Browning as Cargo Supply Chain Manager. He was previously with specialist beverage logistics company J F Hillebrand, where he worked as Supply Chain and Logistics Solutions Development Manager.
Rendsburg Port GmbH, a 50:50 joint venture between Brunsbüttel Ports GmbH and Ahlman-Zerssen GmbH & Co KG on a 50/50 basis, operating the heavy lift/project cargo terminal at the Kiel Canal in Rendsburg, has appointed Holger Trost as new joint managing director as the representative of the partner Ahlmann-Zerssen GmbH & Co KG. Together with Frank Schnabel of Brunsbüttel Ports GmbH, he forms the management of Rendsburg Port GmbH.
A major reshuffle at the Management Board of DB AG, Germany’s state railway group, is underway. The Board of eight members will be to six - Dr Rüdiger Grube (Chairman), Richard Lutz (finance), Ulrich Weber (personnel), Ronald Profalla (chief lobbyist), Dr Volker Kefer and Bernhold Huber. Heike Hanagarth, member of the board in charge of the technical division, has left DB AG "at her own request." Frau Hanagarth joint DB AG in December 2013 and before that was managing director of the motor production of the BMW AG in Munich. Also leaving is Dr Alexander Hedderich, Chairman of DB Schenker Rail since September 2009. Huber, presently in charge of long distance public transport, may be appointed his successor. Dr. Karl-Friedrich Rausch, member of the board in charge of logistics services, will retire at the end of 2015 and Kefer, currently in charge of infrastructure, is expected to replace him. The member of the board for compliance Gerd Becht will also leave DB AG and will be replaced by Profalla, a former government minister.
Jochen Thewes has been appointed the new CEO of DB Schenker AG, succeeding Dr Thomas Lieb who left the group in March 2015 under something of a cloud. Thewes is presently head of DB Schenker’s Asia-Pacific division, based in Essen, and before that he was with Kühne + Nagel.
German UIRR company Kombiverkehr Deutsche Gesellschaft für kombinierten Güterverkehr GmbH & Co KG Frankfurt/Main has appointed two executives to new positions in their international transport divisions. As of July 1st 2015 Ulrich Bedacht is the new manager for the Northern Europe and German Baltic Sea Ports division. He succeeds Christoph Schwarz, who will join Stena Line as of September 1st 2015. Bedacht's former post as manager, East and South East Europe, has been taken over by Marijo Pesic.
TNT has appointed Gina Galvin as Managing Director of TNT Express Worldwide (Thailand).
Wincanton plc, part of Rhenus Group, has appointed Tim Lawlor, currently with Serco Group, as Group Finance Director and Executive Director on the Board with effect from 28 September. As previously reported, Eric Born will step down as CEO on 31 July to take up a new role outside of the sector and Adrian Colman, currently Group Finance Director, will be appointed CEO effective 1 August 2015.
Christian Böttcher is the new Managing Director for the German operations of the owner run logistics company Röhlig, taking over from Jens Opera. He joins Röhlig from UTi Worldwide Group in Long Beach (CA), where he headed up global sea freight.
GAC UK is expanding its services for the heavy lift and project forwarding sector with the appointment of industry specialist Martin Kenney as Chartering & Project Manager, based in Southampton and London Heathrow offices.
