Round-up of latest appointments known to WorldCargo News in the shipping, ports and related sectors
Russia's Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has appointed the Deputy Minister of Transport, Oleg Valentinovich Belozerov, as the new President of Russian Railways (RZD), succeeding Dr Vladimir Yakunin who stepped down as President of RZD last month as he seeks a position in the federal council of the Upper House of the Russian Parliament.
The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners has selected Louis Gutierrez as the port’s Managing Director of Human Resources and Team Development. Gutierrez will lead a new bureau dedicated to supporting recruitment, hiring and training of Harbor Department personnel. He has been recruited from thr Lewis Group of Companies, a leading US property developer.
Groupe Eurotunnel SE has appointed François Gauthey as CFO and Corporate Officer in charge of Corporate services for the group. He is a former Director General of Voies Navigables de France (Inland Waterways Board) and has joined Groupe Eurotunnel from Sanef ITS Technologies.
Marie Glanville, formerly Group Financial Controller of Immunodiagnostic Systems Holdings plc, has joined the Port of Tyne as CFO, with responsibility for finance, IT and corporate governance.
Alexander Stern has left his post as Managing Director of Region South of DUSS Deutsche Umschlagsgesellschaft Schiene-Strasse GmbH, DB AG's rail/road terminal affiliate, to join RBH Logistics GmbH in Gladbeck, where he will act as Managing Director. His successor at DUSS is Andreas Schulz, who has joined from DB Schenker Rail AG, where he was Marketing Manager, Intermodal.
The Intermodal Association of North America (IANA) has announced that Stephen A Keppler has joined the association as Senior Vice President, a new position. He was formerly was executive director of the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance.
Hempel A/S has announced that Pierre-Yves Jullien, who announced his retirement earlier this year, will be succeeded as CEO by Henrik Andersen, currently Group COO of ISS A/S, by March 1st 2016. Henrik Andersen has been with ISS A/S since 2000, since 2011 as Member of the Executive Board, first as Group CFO and from 2013 Group COO, EMEA and following a recent change been appointed in his current position as global Group COO.
Sakari Kajander has been appointed as Director of the Centre for Maritime Studies (CMS) in Turku, Finland. He was formerly Acting Head of Research and Consulting Unit at the CMS. In a related move, Research Director Professor Esa Hämäläinen has been appointed as Director of the Brahea Center of the University of Turku. Brahea Center was established 2014 and CMS is part of it.
