Denmark's Port of Grenaa has a new Managing Drector, Henrik Carstensen, who was previously CEO of the Port of Hanstholm. Jan Petersen, Mayor of Norddjurs Municipality and Vice Chairman of the Port Board, said that Carstensen will play a crucial role in Grenaa's plans for growth, which include 2.5 km of new quay and deepening the harbour to a depth of 15m. The port's previous MD Henning Laursen retired in September after 10 years in post.
From 1 November 2015, Rik Pek will assume with position of Managing Director, Breakbulk Terminals at Broekman Logistics. He has been working as General Manager of Broekman Distriport bv since 1 January 2011.
Bjørn Olafsson has been appointed as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and member of the corporate management team in TTS Group ASA. He will be responsible for Group Finance, IR/Communications and IT. Up to now, Olafsson has served in an independent capacity as Chairman of TTS' nomination committee. The board of TTS Group has announced that he will step down from the nomination committee with immediate effect.
Daniel Crossan has joined gen set and electrifcation specialist HIMOINSA recently as Project Manager, HIMOINSA Middle East.
Fluid transfer systems and accessories specialist Emco Wheaton has made two new appointments to its Americas' sales team. Holly Damude takes on the role of Dry-Break Product Specialist, based in Oakville, Ontario, while Eric Rodriguez has been appointed as Territory Sales Manager, based in Houston, Texas.
- US shippers' organisation The National Industrial Transportation League (NITL) has announced that Gary LaGrange, President and CEO of the Port of New Orleans, has been selected to receive its 2015 McCullough Award on November 17, 2015, at the League’s 108th annual meeting, which is being held in New Orleans for the first time since 1985. The McCullough Award is presented annually by the Board of Directors of NITL and Logistics Management magazine to the “Logistics Executive of the Year.” The award is named after John T McCullough, a former chief editor of Distribution magazine, a predecessor of Logistics Management.
