Latest appointments known to WorldCargo News in the shipping, ports and related sectors
Gulftainer has announced the appointment of Flemming Dalgaard as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Group, succeeding Peter Richards, will now serve on Gulftainer’s Executive Board and lead the expansion of the company’s footprint in the United States as Chief Executive Officer of Gulftainer USA. Industry veteran Dalgaard joined Gulftainer in August 2015 to manage its international operations.
Consequent on its purchase of ABP's 49.9% stake in DP World Southampton last November, DP World is reorganisng its UK structure, with effect from 1st April. Chris Lewis will become Managing Director for the UK, with Nick Loader stepping up from Finance Director to replace Lewis as CEO, DP World Southampton. Simon Moore has been appointed DP World’s Senior Vice President, Commercial and Strategy, based in Dubai and will be succeeded as CEO, DP World London Gateway by that facility's current General Manager, Cameron Thorpe.
Bromma has announced that Per-Anders Holmström has stepped down from his position as President, "due to personal reasons." Vikram Raman, Vice President, has taken over as interim President of Bromma. The recruitment process to find a new head for Bromma has been initiated.
Michael Berger has been appointed Managing Director of OPDR (Oldenburg Portugiesische Dampfschiffs Rhederei)'s agencies in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, with effect from March 1st 2016. He joins the CMA CGM affiliated line from Buss Ports & Logistics Group in Hamburg.
Helmut Weerman has been appointed Chairman of Emden Port Promotion Association (Emder Hafenförderungsgesellschaft eVdie Zukuft Emden GmbH). He is also Network Manager of Logistics Network Ems.
The Port of Antwerp has appointed Elmar Ockenfels as its new representative for Germany, North Rhine Westphalia. During the course of his career, Ockenfels has worked for VTG, Hapag-Lloyd, BTT Bahn Tank Transport and Chemion Logistik (Bayer Group).
Peel Ports has appointed Richard Goffin as Port Director of Great Yarmouth, the port acquired last December by Peel Ports from International Port Holdings.
Tor E Svensen will step down as Group Executive Vice President of DNV GL on August 1st 2016, to take up a Professorship at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. The Chair focuses on education and research related to safety at sea. Svensen joined the then DNV in 1993 and has held a number of different management positions.
Helena Nordman-Knutson, a Senior Director at Hallvarsson & Halvarsson, consultant in corporate communication, and a Director of Rejlers and CLX Communications, has been nominated to the Board of Alimak Hek.
Magna Tyres Group has appointed Christophe Cantou as Sales Manager for the region South of France.
DB Schenker has appointed Ditlev Ingemann Blicher as its new CEO for the Asia Pacific region with effect May 9th, based in Singapore. He joins from UTI Worldwide, where he was President Asia Pacific and Europe.
