Latest round-up of appointments known to WorldCargo News in the shipping, ports and related sectors
The Port of Gothenburg has appointed Åsa Kärnebro as its New Harbour Master. Ms Kärnebro has been deputy Harbour Master at the port since 2010.
PD Ports has appointed Michael Parker and Alfred van Wyk as Business Development Manager and General Manager, Business Development respectively, for PD Teesport. Van Wyk was formerly head of Intermodal Sales for DB Schenker Rail UK (now known as DB Cargo UK).
TX Logistik AG has appointed Alexander Blankenburg as its new Director of Operations. Blankenburg, currently Operations Manager, Germany with Switzerland's SBB Cargo, will join TX Logistik in July.
Peter Ulber has been nominated as the new Chairman of the Board of Panalpina, succeeding Dr Rudolf W Hug, who is planning to retire at the AGM in May. Stefan Karlen has been nominated as the new CEO. Ulber has been with Panalpina since 2013 and prior to that held a number of senior management posts with Kuehne & Nagel.
Jennifer Hedrick has been appointed Executive Director of the USA's biggest shippers' organisation, The National Industrial Transportation League, replacing Bruce Carlton, who has stepped down as President and CEO after eight years in post, but will continue to consult for NITL. The change is part of NITL’s decision to appoint trade association management and lobby specialist MCI USA to provide its management services. Ms Hedrick is a former director of the USA's Pellet Fuels Institute.
Zäl Rustom has been appointed Managing Director of Braemar Howells, the oil spills and marine emergencies response specialist affiliated to Braemar Shipiing, replacing Simon Rickaby, who has now been appointed non-executive Chairman.
