Latest round-up of appointments known to WorldCargo News in the shipping, ports and allied transportation sectors
FESCO Transportation Group has appointed Steven Hellman as Chief Restructuring Officer. He will lead the Group's debt restructuring process and will act on behalf of the management of the Group with respect to all matters related to the Group's restructuring initiatives. Steven Hellman spent the last 12 years at Credit Suisse Group AG where he held various leadership positions, most recently as CEO for Russia/CIS.
Mols-Linien has appointed Carsten Jensen as its CEO. Jensen said the line needs to optimise services on its Kattegat routes and sort out its Bornholm routes.
Adalberto Tokarski has been appointed Managing Director of ANTAQ, Brazil’s National Waterways Transport Agency. He is expected to remain in post until 18 February 2018, as will Mario Povia, appointed as Director.
Rear Admiral Andrés Gómez Rojas has been appointed as Managing Director of Venezuela's national ports authority, Bolipuertos. He was formerly the head of Guanta port authority. Gómez remains a member of the National Armed Forces (FANB), having held a variety of posts throughout his professional career, including participating in the recovery of the new Petróleos de Venezuela company. He was also involved in the taking back into state ownership of the port of Cabello following the creation of Bolipuertos.
São Paulo State Port Company (Codesp) is in the process of replacing three of five directors that run the port of Santos. Celino Fonseca, who was dismissed as Director of Administration and Finance shortly after returning from three months of medical leave, returns as Director of Logistics Operations. He replaces Cleveland Sampaio Lofrano, who transfers to the Department of Market and Community Relations, where he replaces incumbent Francisco José Adriano. Adriano, in turn, becomes head of Administration and Finance, replacing Hilário Gurjão, who held the post for just 12 days, and is expected to head up the Environmental and Health and Safety Department. Both Director-President of Codesp, José Alex Oliva, and Engineering Director, Antonio de Pádua Andrade, will remain in post.
Dean Hawkridge, a former senior supply chain director for some of the UK’s biggest retailers, has been appointed Head of Commercial, DP World London Gateway Logistics Park with effect from 15th August. He was most recently Group Director of Product Supply for British builders’ merchant Travis Perkins. Prior to that, he was Head of International Supply Chain at DIY retailer B&Q and has also worked in similar roles for Woolworths, Poundstretcher and Burton, in a career spanning almost 30 years.
Markus Vaerst, Managing Director of Swiss consultancy Rail Mind, has been appointed temporary CEO of the Association of European Freight Railways (ERFA). He replaces Julia Lamb, who is going on maternity leave. Before founding Rail Mind, Vaerst was director of the AAE group.
Oliver Seidl is set to join the Management Board of Schenker AG in Essen as the new CFO following his appointment by the Supervisory Board of Schenker AG. He joins from a similar post at Media-Saturn-Holding in Ingolstadt.
Advent Intermodal Solutions has appointed Hilda Rodriguez as senior business development manager. She will be responsible for developing business solutions for the Southeast US, Latin America and Caribbean regions.
