Rantzau Group Hamburg, owner of DAL Deutsche Afrika Linien and JTE John T Essberger, has announced senior management changes. Overall responsibility remains with owners Dr Eberhart von Rantzau and his brother Heinrich von Rantzau. The next level is distributed between: Dr Jan Hammer, who joined the group in 2015, as COO of JTE (chemical tankers, dry cargo and ship management including chartering for own and third party tonnage); Hartmut Lühr as COO, Liner Services, including MAP competence team, the DALSA, DSA, DAL Agency agencies, United Africa Feeder Line, Anjouan Stevedoring Company, Eastbourne Maritime Trading, UAFL Agency, Spanfreight Shipping and group Indian Ocean activities; and Lutz Weber, who joined the group in 2016, as CFO.

Port Tampa Bay in Florida has announced that Torrey Chambliss, its Manager of Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) No. 79, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the National Association of Foreign-Trade Zones (NAFTZ), based in Washington, DC.
Germany's TX Logistik AG, part of Trenitalia Merci (FS Group), has appointed Wolfgang Debusmann as Director, Maritime, based at the Trosidorf HQ. He was formerly CEO of Emons Spedition GmbH in Cologne. At the same time Klaus Niemöhlmann has been named Regional Sales Director, Maritime, based in Hamburg. The appointments are aimed at shifting more maritime container traffic from road to rail.
Effective October 1, 2016, Carl Slotte has been appointed as the new President of Sales Region EMEA at Volvo Construction Equipment. Carl Slotte has held a number of leadership positions at Volvo CE including top posts in Finland and Russia. He succeeds Tomas Kuta, who was appointed Senior Vice President of Global Sales for Volvo CE in June.
Thomas Krüger has been appointed Managing Director of the EMEA business unit of Dachser Air & Sea Logistics. In addition, in January 2018 Jochen Müller will take over from Thomas Reuter as Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the Air & Sea Logistics business field. The transition period, during which Müller will work on developing projects, will start this October. Thomas Reuter will remain on the Executive Board in his role as head of Air & Sea Logistics through the transition period until he retires on 31st December, 2017.
The US Transportation Marketing & Sales Association (TMSA) recently named Don Friddell of Kenco as Chairman of the TMSA Education Committee. In this role, Friddell will lead the committee's strategic efforts in planning and coordinating educational programs that are relevant to sales, business development, marketing and communications professionals in all modes of North American transportation and logistics. This includes online educational webinars, as well as next year's TMSA Marketing & Sales Conference, which will take place June 11-13, 2017, at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort near Jacksonville, Fla.
On September 1st Krister Sandvoss will take over management of the CeMAT "Worldwide” department. Along with the CeMAT exhibition in Hannover, his responsibilities include the foreign exhibitions of Deutsche Messe in the field of intralogistics, consisting of CeMAT Asia, CeMAT Russia, CeMAT India, CeMAT Australia, CeMAT South America, CeMAT Eurasia, CeMAT South East Asua and Intralogistica Italia. His predecessor, Bernd Rohde, has been appointed Managing Director of the Deutsche Messe subsidiary in Mexico.
