Port of Long Beach CEO Jon Slangerup is resigning from the Port of Long Beach, effective October 28th, 2016, after less than two years in post. He has accepted a position as Chairman and CEO of aviation technology company MXI Technologies.
[20th September addendum to above notice]. The Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissionersa has named Duane Kenagy, PE as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Duane Kenagy joined the port in 2014 from Moffatt & Nichol as the its Capital Programs Executive. He and the Commission stated he would not be a candidate for permanent appointment as CEO and the Board will issue a Request For Proposals this week to select a "head hunter" for its next CEO.
Georgia Ports Authority has named Ed McCarthy as its new COO. He joins from his latest post in Norfolk (VA) as COO for CMA CGM America. Prior to working for CMA CGM, he held senior positions with Sealand Services, APM Terminals and Virginia International Terminals.
As a result of the elections held in August, the following individuals were elected as new Vice Presidents of IAPH International Ports and Habours, representing three regions.
- America, Central and South Region: Mauricio Suárez Ramirez, CEO, Port of Santa Marta, Colombia
- America, North Region: Molly Campbell, Director, Port Department, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, USA
- Europe Region: Peter Mollema, Senior Manager and Strategy Advisor, Port of Rotterdam Authority, Netherlands
INTTRA has appointed Philly Teixeira to serve as President, EMEA, a newly-created post. Based in Copenhagen, Mme Teixeira, formerly with CMA CGM, is responsible for INTTRA's EMEA financial, commercial and operational targets. UK-based bulk materials handling specialist.
FPE Global in the UK has announced the appointment of Tim Hines as CFO. He previously held senior financial positions at H J Heinz, Kellogg’s, and Manchester Airport.
