Latest round-up of appointments known to WorldCargo News in the shpping, ports and allied sectors
Westfal-Larsen Group has announced that 73-year-old Rolf Westfal-Larsen will be stepping down as CEO of the group at the end of this year, and will stay on as a Board member and advisor to the group. Rolf Westfal-Larsen Jr has been appointed CEO of Westfal-Larsen Management and Westfal-Larsen & Co, owning and operating eight chemical tankers and managing four dry bulk vessels for Saga Wego. Additionally, Anders Nome Lepsøe has been appointed CEO of Skibsaktieselskapet Navigation, the owning company for Westfal-Larsen Management and Westfal-Larsen & Co., Singapore-based Masterbulk, as well as property firm J Berstad Eiendom and Primozone Production.
Henry Woo is to head up the Asia-Pacific (APAC) division at Hansa Heavy Lift, taking over from Joerg Roehl. Henry Woo, who will be based at the shipping line’s Asia headquarters in Singapore. His career includes senior roles with BBC Chartering, DHL Global Forwarding Management and DB Schenker. After almost six years with the organisation and part of the founding management team, Joerg Roehl has moved back to Europe and will continues in an advisory role.
Viking Supply Ships AB has appointed Trond Myklebust as CEO. He will also act as CEO of Viking Supply Ships A/S, both appointments to take effect at the end of January 2017. Trond Myklebust is currently employed as CEO of Fjord Shipping AS.
Koen Overtoom is the new CEO of Havenbedrijf Amsterdam NV (Ports of Amsterdam). He has been interim CEO since 1 August 2016. Through the appointment of Koen Overtoom, the size of the Board of Directors has been reduced to two - Koen Overtoom and CFO Michiel de Brauw.
Peter Zielinski, Managing Director at Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg since 1999, is retiring on 31st December, 2016. The new man taking over from him at the Hamburg Terminal is his Bremerhaven colleague Wolfgang Schiemann, who is returning to the Elbe after 12 years away. Wolfgang Schiemann will for his part hand over the reins of Eurogate Container Terminal Bremerhaven to the present operations manager Manuela Drews from 1 January 2017.
Murray Hill, NJ, USA: Advent Intermodal Solutions, a leading provider of IT-based intermodal solutions, has announced the addition of Allen Thomas to its leadership team as Chief Strategy Officer, a newly-created role.
A personnel change has been made at Schenker AG's largest business region, as part of a wider reorganisation. Reiner Heiken has assumed the role of CEO of Region Europe, replacing Ewald Kaiser in this function. Heiken served most recently as Chairman of the Management Board at Kühne & Nagel in Hamburg. Schenker is consolidating the Air and Ocean Freight and Land Transport Board Divisions to create a new division named Freight (COO), which will be headed by Ewald Kaiser, currently Member of the Management Board for Land Transport.
Rotterdam-based Broekman Logistics has appointed Willem Jan van Amersfoort as Managing Director, Warehousing & Distribution. He started earlier this year at Broekman Logistics and was operationally responsible for all warehouse locations. With the departure of Jacques Klein Kramer, he has also taken on the commercial responsibility for the business unit.
The UK P&I Club has appointed George Devereese as Loss Prevention Advisor in London. He joins from Edge Brokers London where he handled marine claims.
International commercial law firm Hill Dickinson has announced that Julian Clark will be joining the firm in January 2017 as global head of shipping. He is a founding partner of Campbell Johnston Clark (CJC) and specialises in both wet and dry shipping. Prior to founding CJC, he spent seven years as a partner at Holman Fenwick Willan LLP. He will be based in Hill Dickinson’s City of London office, but will travel between the firm’s international offices in Piraeus, Monaco, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Europa Road, part of logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group, has appointed of Stewart Lawson as Branch Manager of its Glasgow, Scotland office.
