Ulf Kirst has stepped down as a managing owner of Peter Döhle Schiffahrts KG and has been replaced by Dr Gaby Bornheim.
Scandlines’ Senior Vice President for route management and operations Claus Nikolajsen will retire. He will be succeed by Michael Guldmann Petersen.
As part of a restructuring by Grimaldi Group, Dirk Peters has been appointed as sole Managing Director of Grimaldi Germany GmbH, responsible, interalia, for all ro-ro activities in Germany. Former joint Managing Director Hans Jürgen Sell is now responsible for “external relations” and has an advisory role. Dirk Pichlmeier is responsible for container, general cargo and project business. Martin Jöhnk has ben appointed as Manager. Kai Wethmar has been appointed Sales Director, Germany and head of the Bremen branch office. The Austrian Director Klaus Grupe is now also responsible for finance, administration, IT and HR.
London, UK: Ken Rohlmann, Senior Director - Dangerous Goods, Hapag-Lloyd, has been elected to the position of Deputy Chairman of CINS, the Cargo Incident Notification System, the international association whose aim is to increase safety in the supply chain, reduce the number of cargo incidents on-board ships and highlight the risks caused by certain cargoes and/or packing failures. Mr. Rohlmann has been on the Board of CINS since 2013 and his term of office as CINS Deputy Chairman will run until the end of 2019. He replaces Dirk Van de Velde in the post.
Luigi Merlo, who was Chairman of APG Genoa Port Authority for seven years (2008-15) and served as an Advisor to Transport Minister Graziano Delrio during the whole of 2016 when the port law No 84 of 1994 was reformed, with, among other things, a reduction in the number of port authorities, has been appointed Director of institutional relations for Mediterranean Shipping Company in Italy. in Italia del Gruppo MSC.
Alexander Ochs has been appointed the new Managing director of the German inland port Hafen Nürnberg-Roth GmbH, located on the Rhine- Main-Danube Canal and part of Bayernhafen Gruppe. He has replaced Harald Leupolde in the post.
London, UK: The Board of Directors of the Container Owners' Association has elected Brian Darnowski, Vice-President, Global Operations, Triton International, to the position of COA Chairman, effective 1st January 2017. The COA Board also elected Uffe Ernst-Frederiksen, Head of Cargo Management, Maersk Line, as its Deputy Chairman. Both positions are for a 3-year term. Brian Darnowski has been a Board Member of the COA since 2008, while Uffe Ernst-Frederiksen joined the Board in 2014. Brian Darnowski replaces the outgoing Chairman Paul Merritt.
The UK P&I Club has promoted Risk Assessor David Nichol to Regional Loss Prevention Executive for the Greece region. Master Mariner David Nichol joined UK P&I in 2014.
Dubai, UAE: GAC has announced new management appointments at Group and individual company level. Martin Wallgren has been appointed the Group’s Chief Information Officer (CIO). He was formerly CIO for the Stena Group in Sweden. GAC Dubai’s Managing Director Stuart Bowie will take over as the Group Vice President, Commercial. He replaces Christer Sjödoff, who retires at the end of January, after 24 years with GAC. Ronald Lichtenecker, formerly Managing Director of GAC Hub Services GHS) takes over as Company Manager for GAC Dubai, with Lars Hardeland, currently the company’s Strategic Sourcing Manager, succeeding him at GAC. Tatyana Shorokhova has been appointed General Manager for GAC Russia.
Former TSS Co-Founder and Developer of Aimsun software Dr. Jaume Barceló, who is also Emeritus Professor at UPC Barcelona, Spain, has joined transport planning specialist PTV Group, as a full-time Strategic Advisor.
